Hi all, I own a little old PIII "home server" acting as a gateway and storage solution (and running a few other linux services) with 2 SATA disks connected via PCI SATA controller based on SiI 3112 chip. It has run fine for approximately 3 years but now I get some DMA READ/WRITE errors for both drives, so I assume there's something wrong with the controller and I'd like to get a replacement for it. I've found some PNY controllers with SR5000 chips for a reasonable price on ebay. I know using this for my home server purpose is just a luxury, however I like fine pieces of hardware like this, so I'm deciding to buy it. Nevertheless, I wonder if the SR5000 chips support NCQ and I'm also curious how big is the power consumption of the controller in comparison with some inferior ones. Thanks in advance for any reply and sorry for the (maybe) stupid questions
