I am having the same issues as ninjagull, with mine. I'm running RAID1 on 2 SATA II drives, with a 950W PS. I have had a hair ripping experience with this thing, and I think I'm done with it. The firmware update made no difference. Almost all options in Windows are grayed out with the software provided, which makes it just about useless. Every time I install an OS on it, and start running updates, it tells me a drive needs to be replaced, or has a fault, and when I check the drives on my other server, they always test fine.
I just ordered a SUPERMICRO AOC-SAT2-MV8 64-bit PCI-X133MHz SATA Controller Card, (since my motherboard is also Supermicro P3TDE6-G), in the hopes that it will play much nicer.

Hello fellow RAID enthusiasts. Anyone have any updates on this? I am in the process of resurrecting a dinosaur server I built back in 2001. Its a Supermicro P3TDE6-G, with 4GB SDRAM and dual 1GHZ PIII processors. It ran fine with XP, but I am upgrading to Win7 now, and have run into many drivers issues, which have all been overcome, except for the pny s-cure spu5103ppb, and the game port on my Creative Labs sound card, which oddly enough, they made Win7 drivers for, but for some reason left out the integrated game port drivers. DUH! Also, will any of the firmware updates on the old site make any difference at all in performance within the OS, or should I just leave it alone? Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated.
To clarify, Win7 seems to play nice with the hardware, but not having the Win based Storage Manager is a huge downer!
Thanks!!
