Alright, drive failed, got new drive, plugged it in. Now it shows up as unassigned. I'm running windows 7 and the storage manager doesnt work. Anybody know if there's a way to assign the new drive array 0 from the bios?
Thanks!

I also have W7 RC 7100 and the same result with the storage manager. It opens but doesnt recognise the raid 3. As for the unassigned drive... when ur system boots, press Ctrl-F when the syncRAID bios with the blue box appears. this will take u into a menu, select rebuild array and select the drive to rebuild! wholah! dusted. Make sure you got a magazine and cup of tea handy AL

Wish it was that easy. The netcell card im using (5-port raid3) doesnt have an option for rebuild. All i really have is delete array and create new array. I'm thinking about just installing xp to another drive and running the storage manager from there.

Oops just realised... Im talkin rubbish. those steps are for my Promise Controller raid! The rebuild for the revo is done automatically normally, thou the progress u can check under the utility software. You should be able to init a rebuild from there too.
In your case (as the util doesnt work under W7) i would make a bootdisk (usb) with an installation of xp/xp embedded/bart pe on and install the util on that.
Otherwise just have XP on a seperate partition. Thats what i have.

i just went into my syncraid bios and also found the same, there is no rebuild option. in the case of raid 3, it should rebuild on the fly or expand it. do you have a raid 0,1 or 3?
because your array is screwed if you have raid 0 as thats striped and cant be rebuilt. not sure about raid 1, maybe in this case you have assign a new raid 1 again and make sure you get the source drive correct!

yah it's 3 drives in raid3 and its not automatically reassigning the new drive to the degraded array. so yah, i'll either give bartpe a shot, or just install to a second partition.
